Itinerary

Day 01 : Arrive Chandigarh/Thanedhar (7700 Feet,198 kms/6 Hrs.)

Today morning pickup from Chandigarh and drive to Thanedhar (5 to 6 Hrs), enroute visit the Apple orchards, Hattu peak (10,000 ft) at Narkanda for spectacular view of the mighty Central Himalayas. Arrive Thanedar and check in your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Thanedar/Sangla  (8900 Feet, 150 Kms)

Today after breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Sangla (5-6 hrs) and on arrival check in to Banjara Camps. After lunch walk through Kamru and Sangla villages and visit the beautifully carved old temples and Buddhist monasteries. The valley is also known as the Baspa Sangla valley, after river Baspa which flows through the valley and it is the part of Kinnaur valley. Overnight at Banjara Camps.

Day 03: Sangla/Chitkul/Sangla (11320 Feet, 44 Kms)/Kalpa (9710 Feet, 40 Kms)

Today morning after breakfast visit Chitkul. Return to Banjara Camps for Lunch. After lunch drive to Kalpa village (2-3 hrs.) En route stop at Recongpeo. Recongpeo is the district headquarters of Kinnaur district. Continue drive to Kalpa (7 kms) and check into the hotel. After some rest you may wish to take a walk to Kalpa village and the nearby Roghi village. These villages are covered with thick pine forests and are famous for apricots and apples. The beautiful view of the Mt. Kinner Kailash (6000 Metres) is from here. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Kalpa/Tabo (10,760 Feet, 165 Kms)

Today after breakfast drive to Tabo (8-9 hrs). Today we will be entering the beautiful Spiti valley which is also known as the cold desert of the Himalayas (as this area is cut from rest of the world due to heavy snow in the winters). En route visiting Nako Lake and village with a famous monastery. Arrive Tabo in the evening and check into the hotel. If time permits on the way you will also visit the naturally preserved mummy of a Buddhist monk at Gue village. Overnight at hotel. 

Day 05: Tabo/Kaza (12, 500 Feet, 50 Kms)

Today after breakfast visit Tabo monastery, which is oldest monastery in the whole Himalayas. Later continue drive to Kaza en route visiting Dhankar village, monastery and fort. Arrive Kaza in the evening and check into the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 06: Kaza (12, 500 Feet)

Today after breakfast drive to the village of Lagnza. Visit the monastery at the top of the village and on the way look out for fossils. Here you can also see the yak working in the fields or yak grazing in the pastures. Also visit Hikkim and Comic village – the world’s highest village on road. Later return to the main road and continue for a tour of Kee Monastery and the village of Kibber. Kibber (at 4,200 metres) was considered the world’s highest village. Return to Kaza in the evening. Overnight at hotel.

Day 07: Kaza/Nako (115 Kms/2 ½ Hrs.)

Today after breakfast drive to Nako. On arrival check into the hotel. Latter visit thousand year old Nako monastery and footprints of Lord Padmasambhava. Overnight at hotel.

Day 08 : Nako/Sarahan (174 Kms/5 Hrs.)

After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Sarahan (2165 meters above the sea level) - commands a view of Srikhand Mahadev Peak and is famous for 800 years old Bhimakali Temple, one of the best examples of Hill Architecture. On arrival check in at hotel. In the evening, enjoy panoramic view of Shrikhand Peaks, Also visiting Bhimakali Temple - one of the 51 Shaktipeeths. Attend the mesmerizing evening Aarti Ceremony at Bhimakali temple. Overnight at hotel.

Day 09 : Sarahan/Shimla (165 Kms/5 Hrs.) 

After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Shimla (2180 meter above sea level). En route visit Kufri. On arrival check in at hotel. At evening can see prime places of Shimla like Lakkar Bazaar, Ridge, Church & Mall road. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10 : Shimla/Chandigarh (120 Kms/3 Hrs.) 

After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Chandigarh. On arrival transfer straight to airport/railway station to board the train to onward destination.
